TAX STATUS


We are currently submitting the paperwork to obtain a 501(c)3 non-profit designation.  According to the current rules, being granted non-profit status allows for gifts to be tax deductible retroactively.  For example if a person gives a gift in July of this year and our papers are granted later, the July gift is retroactively tax deductible.  We hope to have our papers in 2016.


However, if you need your gift to be 100% for certain tax deductible and cannot take any chance whatsoever that it might not be somehow, please contact us directly and we can help you consider other ways of giving a gift so that you can be sure of the tax status of the gift.


OUR BOOKS


Up to now we have run prior projects through other non-profit agencies and they issued the receipts.  Starting now, we will issue the receipts and maintain a set of accounting books.  We will issue an annual report as is required by the state and the IRS each year that includes an overall financial report for the prior year.  And our books are open to anyone that would like to view them.  We have no secrets and will be happy to accommodate any reasonable request to view any part of our accounting records.

HOW TO GIVE


Any size gift is helpful. Even if we don't make our goal the funds raised will be given to this project.  A full report will be made available after the funds are disbursed.
